He mentioned the asset, along with some others, as potentially being included in the country's strategic cryptocurrency reserve. Ripple's cross-border token surged during the massive bullish wave that XRP experienced on Sunday when the President of the United States, Donald Trump, reached 3 dollars for the first time in a few weeks.
The momentum was short-lived and XRP quickly fell to 2.2 dollars. However, it had regained some ground and was at 2.65 dollars last night before Trump's executive order stating that the country will focus solely on Bitcoin, but did not mention any other cryptocurrency.
The price of XRP fell 9% immediately, dropping to 2.37 dollars before bouncing back to 2.5 dollars.
