#TrumpCongressSpeech
On March 4, 2025, President Donald Trump addressed Congress, declaring “America is back” in a 100-minute speech—his first of his second term. He claimed record-low illegal border crossings, praised tariffs for boosting U.S. manufacturing, and hailed Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency for slashing federal jobs and spending. Trump proposed tax cuts, froze Ukraine aid to push peace, and suggested Greenland join the U.S. He ended DEI programs, made English official, and renamed the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America.” Republicans cheered; Democrats protested. Sen. Elissa Slotkin’s rebuttal called it reckless. It was the longest such address in modern history.
