This was his fifth public address before a joint session and was similar to the State of the Union address. Trump discussed various topics, including egg prices, energy prices, support for police and firefighters, a peace agreement to end the Russo-Ukrainian war, and tariffs. The speech was presided over by Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, accompanied by Vice President JD Vance. Notably, Representative Al Green was removed from the chamber by the sergeant-at-arms after interrupting the beginning of the speech. After the speech, Democratic Senator Alyssa Slotkin from Michigan delivered the Democratic response, while Representative Adriano Espaillat from New York provided the Spanish response. Additionally, Representative Latefah Simon from California delivered the Working Families Party response.
