Trump said his order "directed the Presidential Task Force to advance a Strategic Cryptocurrency Reserve that includes XRP, SOL, and ADA. I will ensure that the U.S. becomes the Crypto Capital of the World."

More than an hour later, Trump added another post: "And, obviously, BTC and ETH, as other valuable cryptocurrencies, will be at the heart of the Reserve."

Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency in the world by market value, rose around 8% to US$ 90.828. Ether, the second largest cryptocurrency, rose 8.3% to US$ 2.409.
