$BTC Bitcoin 2025 vs 2021: Is history repeating itself or is it a new cycle?
The current collapse of Bitcoin to $79,532 has led many to remember the events of 2021, when after hitting a peak, the drop was brutal. Back then, Bitcoin dropped from $69,000 to $41,725, losing almost 50% of its value in just a few weeks.
Today, in 2025, history seems to be repeating itself. From $109,588, the price has pulled back strongly, losing support at the EMA 20 and 99, clear signs of a bearish trend. The question is: Are we in the same situation or is this time different?
Macroeconomic conditions play a key role. In 2021, the drop was accompanied by a tightening of the Fed's monetary policy. Now, in 2025, uncertainty over Trump’s decisions, geopolitical conflicts, and doubts about a possible Altseason could change the market's course.
If history has taught us anything, it's that Bitcoin always finds its way, but the journey is never linear.
Now, my opinion: in my trading experience, I have learned that sometimes analyses work like a precise clock, but sometimes they do not, due to the economic environment. I know that showing little charts of what happened before is not a good projection, but I also know that those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it. I believe this is not a price correction and we are in a bearish cycle, but hey, don't lose faith, that's what shorts are for, right?
