The Ethereum Foundation (EF) is undergoing a major leadership change as Aya Miyaguchi announced her departure from her position as Executive Director. However, she is not leaving the organization but will take on a new role as President of the Ethereum Foundation.

In a personal blog post, Aya Miyaguchi confirmed that she will be stepping down as CEO, but will continue to support #EthereumFoundation as President.

“This new opportunity will allow me to continue supporting the Ethereum Foundation’s institutional relationships, while expanding the impact of our vision and culture,” she wrote.

The change comes amid a restructuring of the Ethereum Foundation’s leadership, but there’s no word yet on who will replace Miyaguchi as CEO.

Aya Miyaguchi and Her Impact on Ethereum

The Ethereum Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 with the mission of supporting the development of the Ethereum ecosystem. Aya Miyaguchi joined the organization in 2018 and has played an important role in its management for the past 6 years.

Under her leadership, Ethereum has continued to upgrade and expand with many important improvements, including #Hardfork waves and community events such as Devcon. However, Ethereum has recently lost its appeal to new developers, leading some to criticize Miyaguchi and argue that this is the reason ETH has lost its advantage over other blockchains.

It is still unclear who will replace Miyaguchi as CEO. The Ethereum Foundation has not yet issued an official response on the matter.
