I’ve seen countless posts this morning saying the Bybit hacker will eventually be tracked down and the funds refunded. Let me break it to you: This is not how crypto works.

Hackers can quickly move funds from Ethereum to Binance Smart Chain to Avalanche and beyond, creating layers of confusion that even the most advanced blockchain forensics can’t peel back.
So if you think the hacker will be caught or the funds will magically return—it’s time to face reality. If someone knows how to steal the private keys from a top-tier exchange, believe me they’re masters in hiding their tracks. They’ve got the skills to cover their steps, and no amount of tracking is likely to catch them.
