According to Jinshi, lawmakers in South Dakota have postponed a vote that could allow the state to invest in Bitcoin, effectively killing the bill. At the South Dakota House of Representatives' Business and Energy Committee meeting on February 24, most of the attending lawmakers voted to postpone the HB 1202 bill to the 41st day of the South Dakota legislative session. Since the legislative session lasts no more than 40 days, this motion effectively kills the current version of the bill, which proposed 'allowing state-level investment' in Bitcoin. The proposed bill would amend the classification of South Dakota's public funds to include up to 10% Bitcoin investment.
According to CoinDesk, Ethereum's Pectra upgrade was activated at 5:55 on the Holesky testnet, but according to blockchain data, it was initially not finalized. Finalization refers to the state when a transaction is confirmed and added to a block, making it immutable and irreversible. It is currently unclear why the testnet failed to finalize.
