Bybit, which suffered the largest hack in cryptocurrency history on Friday (21), announced a reward program for anyone who helps recover stolen funds.
According to The Block, the exchange is offering 10% of the amount as a reward, which could total up to $140 million.
“We want to officially reward our community who lent us their experience, knowledge and support through the Recovery Reward Program,” said Ben Zhou, co-founder and CEO of Bybit. “Bybit is determined to overcome this setback, fundamentally transform its security infrastructure, improve liquidity and be a trusted partner for our friends in the crypto community.”
Cryptocurrency analytics firm Arkham has issued a bounty of 50,000 ARKM (about $34,000) to pseudonymous security researcher ZachXBT for linking the attack to the Lazarus Group — a hacking organization known for using phishing schemes to extract million-dollar payouts.
