Cryptocurrencies, a way to escape inflation
Cryptocurrencies have many different structures. Some are highly inflationary (whether a cryptocurrency is inflationary or deflationary depends on its tokenomics) and others are deflationary. Bitcoin, the most popular and well-known cryptocurrency, is a deflationary cryptocurrency. The reason it is deflationary is because of its limited number and total supply; ultimately, there are only supposed to be 21 million BTC units. To date, about 19.2 million units of the total 21 million have been mined.
