Bybit, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, has suffered a massive hack that has shaken the entire crypto market. Hackers were able to steal around $1.4 billion worth of Ethereum-based coins after exploiting a loophole in an internal transfer between the platform’s wallets. The plan was very clever, as the hacker modified the smart contract of the cold wallet (which is supposed to be the most secure because it is off-line) and withdrew the money with ease.
