Milei expresses his support for Buterin and Ethereum; the Bitcoin community repudiates him.
The Argentine president Javier Milei publicly expressed his support for Vitalik Buterin and the Ethereum network. He thanked the co-founder of that network for his words about Argentine talent.
On X, Milei wrote: “It would be an honor for Argentina to host Devconnect. I agree that it would be a great opportunity for our country.” Thus, he responded to the comments that Buterin made earlier.
The Russian-Canadian developer stated that “the Ethereum community in Argentina is full of incredible developers who have already contributed to some of the most important software in the Ethereum ecosystem.”
Buterin highlighted Argentina's weight in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. He pointed out that “the energy and determination to seize Argentina's current momentum and use cryptocurrencies and other new technologies to build a prosperous society in the 21st century are real.”
Likewise, the co-founder of Ethereum stated that bringing Devconnect to Argentine soil could be a great opportunity. He said it would serve to showcase the best that cryptocurrencies can offer.
