🚨 9,000 Abstract wallets were hacked after interacting with the Cardex game, causing a loss of 400,000 USD ETH. Currently, the project team is actively investigating and looking for solutions.

Attack targeting Abstract wallets through Cardex

🔍 On February 18, many wallet users reported losing money. Subsequently, the Abstract team confirmed that the attack only affected wallets that interacted with the Cardex application – a new on-chain card trading game launched on February 11.

📌 Important information:
✔ It is not a fault of the Abstract Global Wallet (AGW) network, but only occurred with the application #Cardex .
✔ Hackers exploited a private key login vulnerability from the front-end website of Cardex, then took control of transactions from the game's smart contract.
✔ Only ETH in the wallets is affected, ERC-20 tokens and NFTs remain safe.

Damage and recovery direction

📊 Estimated damage of 400,000 USD from 9,000 affected wallets.
🤝 The Abstract and Cardex teams are collaborating with Seal 911 to find ways to recover the lost funds.

Warning for users

⚠ If you have ever connected your wallet to Cardex, you should immediately revoke (cancel authorization) the contract to avoid further risks.
⏳ There is still no official compensation plan from the project.

💡 Advice: Always carefully check applications before connecting your wallet and only interact with platforms that have been security audited. 🚀
