The cryptocurrency exchange FTX, which collapsed in November 2022, has officially begun the reimbursement process to its creditors on February 18, 2025. This first phase prioritizes clients with claims under $50,000,
who will receive approximately 119% of the value of their claims, including an annual interest of 9% accrued since November 2022. The payments, managed by BitGo and Kraken, total $1.2 billion and are expected to reach 162,000 accounts within 1 to 3 business days. This step marks a milestone in the recovery of trust in the crypto sector following one of the largest financial scandals in history.
