The collapsed FTX platform has begun paying out compensation to its customers more than two years after its collapse in 2022. The payment will be made in two stages: the first in February 2025 for customers with claims under $50,000, and the second in April for those with higher claims, with actual disbursements in May. The court ordered FTX to pay $12.7 billion, with 98% of customers expected to receive compensation in excess of their original claims, with interest of up to 9%.
