#FTXrepayment
FTX has started repaying its creditors, marking a significant milestone since its collapse in 2022. The repayment process began on February 18, 2025, with the first payouts going to creditors with claims under $50,000. These creditors, known as the "Convenience Class," are set to receive full repayment, including 9% interest.
For Bitcoin and Ethereum holders, the repayment amounts are based on November 2022 prices. Ethereum holders will receive $2,500 per ETH, while Bitcoin claims are capped at $20,000. This has sparked frustration among Bitcoin investors, as the current market value of BTC is significantly higher.
FTX aims to return between $14.7 billion and $16.5 billion, potentially paying creditors over 118% of their original account values from November 2022. However, creditors with claims exceeding $50,000 will have to wait until the second quarter of 2025 for their repayments.
