Abstract responds to Cardex breach that resulted in $400,000 loss
According to a report by Odaily Planet Daily, Abstract responded to the security incident that occurred on the X platform, saying that it discovered a vulnerability in the Cardex app, not an Abstract Global Wallet vulnerability or a network vulnerability. The vulnerability resulted in the loss of nearly $400,000 worth of tokens.
The Cardex team inadvertently exposed the private key during the audit process, allowing an attacker to initiate transactions to the wallet that approved the session key. Abstract emphasizes its strict security processes and will continue to improve to protect users.
Abstract recommends that users regularly revoke approvals and permissions for apps and tokens in their wallets through revocation to prevent potential attacks.
