XRP vs Ethereum: Harvard Engineer Explains Why XRP Will Overtake Ethereum
Harvard engineer Austin King, co-founder of the Omni Foundation, recently dropped a big punch on a crypto podcast, saying XRP could potentially overtake Ethereum!
As you know, Austin King has been in the Ethereum and XRP space for a long time. He bluntly said that Ethereum is no longer a hot commodity. Why? He said Ethereum has two big problems: inflation and centralization.
Ethereum, although it started out as a deflationary network with a limited supply that is decreasing every month, sounds pretty cool. But the problem is that it is now pushing activity outward and creating a bunch of layer 2 solutions, most of which run on a single computer and are not decentralized at all. This has greatly reduced Ethereum's credibility as a decentralized asset.
In addition, Ethereum's inflation problem and unclear development direction have made many industry insiders sweat about its future. In recent months, the price of Ethereum has also been sluggish, not even touching its previous peak.
XRP, on the other hand, is a competitor with a strong background. It has clear use cases and a solid position in tokenized assets and cross-border payments. Although the total supply of XRP is 100 billion, Ripple only releases 200 million per month, which is a fixed number.
Moreover, XRP's technical framework is also quite unique. Austin King believes that it is fully capable of replacing Ethereum and becoming the second largest asset in the market. Look, XRP has risen by 580% in the past three months! Ethereum is still standing still.
Currently, XRP's market value is $140 billion, and Ethereum's is $322 billion. But if XRP rises from the current $2.44 to $6, its market value will exceed Ethereum!
