On February 17, 2025, the British TV channel Channel 4 will premiere the documentary Finding Satoshi: The Mysterious Creator of #Биткоина . This film promises to solve one of the most intriguing mysteries of the world of cryptocurrencies - the identity of Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto.
According to the channel, the film will be a fun and journalistic investigation in the spirit of "gonzo journalism." Its goal is to establish who the legendary Satoshi Nakamoto really could have been.
Executive producer Will Anderson added that the original mission evolved from a manhunt to a surreal journey. The filmmakers are trying to figure out whether the story of Bitcoin’s creation is the result of a conspiracy by a group of influential figures in Silicon Valley. They ask: What if this conspiracy aimed to undermine democracy and financial freedom?
The documentary will initially be released on YouTube as five 20-minute episodes. After the YouTube presentation, these episodes will be combined into a full-length documentary that will air on television in early March.
Recall that last year another documentary about Satoshi Nakamoto premiered on the HBO platform. The authors of this film suggested that one of the Bitcoin Core developers, Peter Todd, was hiding behind the pseudonym. However, he denied the information that he created Bitcoin and filed a lawsuit against HBO.
