The order requires federal agencies to collaborate with Musk’s team to streamline operations, cut down staff, and freeze new hires.
Announcing the decision in the Oval Office with Musk present, Trump emphasized the need for reform. Musk, addressing criticism of his anti-government views, argued that the public is calling for change. He claimed his goal is to restore democracy by curbing the excessive power of the civil service. 
Musk also highlighted concerns about fraud and inefficiencies within federal agencies, alleging that some employees were illegally profiting millions and vowing to eliminate such issues in government spending.
