Elon Musk has repeatedly stressed that the only way to stop fraud and waste of taxpayer money is to monitor money flows and temporarily stop suspicious transactions to examine them. He justified his move to take control of the US Treasury's payments system (which manages trillions of dollars annually) in order to expose these practices.
- Musk stated in a post on the "X" platform that the current system allows huge amounts of money to leak through fraudulent operations, and that his team is able to identify them through data analysis.
