$BTC $DATA $FTT Mempool research has shown that with widespread use of inscriptions (metadata), the size of a Bitcoin block could grow to 4 MB. This is significantly higher than the current average size, which is just over 1.5 MB.
Inscriptions allow for the efficient encoding of arbitrary data within a block. If this method is widely adopted, the size of a Bitcoin block could increase significantly.
After the Taproot upgrade in 2021, the maximum block size reached 2.4 MB, and theoretically, it could reach 4 MB. With larger blocks, the Bitcoin network could become more scalable, enhancing its competitiveness in the market. In comparison, Solana can store up to 128 MB of data in a single block. #BTCHovers100k #BitcoinReserveWave
