#Trump is expected to sign the tariff order soon (probably tonight). Canada was informed by the US earlier today.
The US reported that it has been informed that it will impose 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico, and 10% on China. Canadian energy will be subject to a 10% tariff.
The tariffs will go into effect on Tuesday and will remain in effect until the fentanyl overdose "issue is resolved."
The Canadian Cabinet is expected to meet at 11:00 PM ET and issue a response at 2:00 AM ET.
Meanwhile, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said on January 29, "We don't think that's going to happen" regarding the tariffs.
Trump has not said anything about the tariffs on air or on social media so far. He is currently in Florida.
