Drex is the digital form of the Brazilian currency, the Real. It will be issued exclusively within the electronic platform operated by the Central Bank, the Drex Platform. This platform will have rules to guarantee the security, privacy and legality of transactions.
Cryptoassets and stablecoins are privately issued digital assets (they are not issued by central banks) and are generally not regulated or monitored by governments. As they do not have typical functions of an official currency, they are subject to frequent variations in their market value and other risks, with greater or lesser intensity.
So the central bank wants to evolve by creating the Digital Real but wants to continue to lag behind in the market in relation to cryptocurrencies, what do you think about that?
