Ronald Branstetter, the founder of the meme coin Unicorn Fart Dust (UFD) on the Solana network, just lost 1.2 million USD to a hack, but claims he will not give up on his project and community.

From skepticism to unexpected success

Initially, Branstetter created #UFD to prove that crypto has no value, but the community responded strongly, pushing the market cap up to 420 million USD. Just 6 weeks later, he went from a skeptic to a passionate fan of crypto.

Despite the token's soaring price, Branstetter claims he does not want to sell because he believes in the project's potential. However, on Monday afternoon, his wallet was attacked, and all the funds in the wallet were transferred and sold off in about 50 transactions. Approximately 200,000 USD $SOL and other tokens were also completely lost.

Tricked by a fake reporter

Branstetter said he was tricked when he clicked on a video interview link from an unidentified “reporter.” After the unusual call, his account was accessed illegally, and money was stolen immediately. This is a common type of scam in crypto.

The community united to help

After the hack, many suspected that Branstetter staged the event himself, but most of the community still supports him. They have sent over 425,000 USD UFD to a new multi-sig wallet controlled by Branstetter.

In a subsequent livestream, he emotionally shared:
🔹 “If I could do it all over again, I would still choose this path.”
🔹 “The community is showing the world the power of kindness.”

Currently, UFD has dropped 24% in the past 24 hours to 0.123 USD/token, losing 69% of its value from the peak. Nevertheless, Branstetter remains determined to continue developing Unicorn Fart Dust, upholding the spirit of "good attracts good" of the project. 🚀
