According to a statement on January 28,

legislators in Kentucky and South Dakota are preparing to propose legislation to establish a Bitcoin reserve in the coming weeks.

South Dakota Representative Logan Manhart announced that he will introduce a bill in the South Dakota House of Representatives to create a strategic Bitcoin reserve. He added that this is 'one of the few opportunities' for the government to take proactive action.

Meanwhile, Kentucky Representative TJ Roberts stated that he will introduce similar legislation in the first week after returning to the General Assembly.

It is understood that Wyoming and Massachusetts are the two most recent states to launch Bitcoin-related legislation among eight states since December 2024.
