In general, to participate in a token airdrop, you need to fulfill a certain condition, for example, subscribe to the project on social networks or watch a certain video or group of pictures as many times as possible. The examples of earnings considered relate to the classic version of an airdrop. In general, there are several types. Let's indicate them:
• Classic airdrop;
• User airdrop;
• For holders of cryptocurrencies.
Let's briefly review them.
1) Classic airdrop
The simplest earning option related to performing primitive actions. Earnings are usually minimal.
2) User airdrop
This type of airdrop allows users of any blockchain applications to earn tokens. It is widely spread in decentralized blockchain networks. For example, earnings can consist of tokens awarded to users of a specific blockchain network for registration or other actions.
3) For holders of cryptocurrencies
Here, free distribution of tokens for cryptocurrency holders can serve as earnings, for example, with a certain level of capitalization. This encourages wallet owners to accumulate cryptocurrencies.
A necessary condition for earning from airdrops is having a non-custodial wallet for the coin or token, the keys to which are held by the user. For example, an exchange wallet is not suitable for these purposes.
You can sometimes make good money from airdrops. For example, there is a known case when in the autumn of the year before last, the cryptocurrency exchange Uniswap distributed four hundred tokens of the UNI cryptocurrency to everyone who had participated in trading at least once, which corresponded to about $2,800. Such cases are not rare.
However, there are also some risks associated with earning from airdrops. For example, when participating in a competition, it may happen that one of the scammers, of which there are more than enough in the network, gains access to your seed phrase or private key. And then you may lose all your savings. It is advisable to avoid airdrops that promise ultra-fast and very high earnings. In this case, there is a risk of fraud and/or losing your confidential data.
