Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has approved a massive AED 128 billion (US$ 34.85 billion) expansion of Al Maktoum International Airport. The project will make it the world’s largest, handling up to 260 million passengers – five times the capacity of Dubai International Airport.
With 400 terminal gates and five runways, operations from Dubai International Airport will eventually move to Al Maktoum, cementing Dubai’s role as a global aviation hub.
