From the perspective of $ETH , the foundation's enormous expenditures and lack of transparency can indeed raise doubts. It seems that Vitalik Buterin is also reforming the foundation; the voices of the community are certainly being heard. However, it is unlikely that such a large ship can easily change direction just because of community skepticism. In fact, the community may not care about the actual role of the foundation, or even the direction of technological development. They are less concerned about gas fees, as long as the price goes up. Investment is about investing in people. If one believes in Vitalik's leadership and the developers and creativity within the Ethereum ecosystem, one can hold long-term. Of course, I don't recommend putting all eggs in one basket, as nothing is 100% guaranteed, and if the performance is really poor...
