The price of the currency reached more than $75 for the first time in its history, raising the total market cap to $15 billion, with a trading volume exceeding $2 billion in just 24 hours.
Between 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m. (EST), prices doubled, and a large ratio of buyers to sellers began to appear after midnight.
Over the past 24 hours, there were around 38,500 sales versus 13,300 purchases, which equates to 3 sellers for every buyer. However, demand outstripped supply, with $1.1 billion in purchases versus $850 million in sales.
