The Akademik Lomonosov, the world’s only floating nuclear power plant, has generated 1 billion kWh of energy since becoming operational in May 2020. Located in Russia's Arctic region, it supplies over 60% of the Chaun-Bilibino power grid's demand and supports mining, heating, and water desalination for 5,000 residents.

Equipped with two KLT-40S reactors, it generates 70 MW of electricity and uses waste heat for heating. Its recent fuel replacement highlights Rosatom’s plans for sustainable nuclear energy, with more floating plants under consideration.
