What do we know about Binance's authorization to operate in Brazil?
Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has received authorization from the Central Bank (BC) to operate in Brazil as a securities brokerage. This occurred after the purchase of the Sim;paul brokerage, which had been under analysis by the BC for more than two years.
With this authorization, Binance becomes the first cryptocurrency exchange to operate as a securities brokerage in Brazil. This is the 21st regulatory authorization obtained by Binance globally.
The authorization allows Binance to operate in all segments of the Brazilian financial market, including securities distribution and e-money issuance. In addition, Latam Gateway, Binance’s payment provider in Brazil, has also received a license from the Central Bank to operate as a payment institution and e-money issuer.
