Thomas Peterffy recommends allocating 3% of savings to cryptocurrency, no more.
Thomas Peterffy, the billionaire founder of Interactive Brokers Group Inc, advises investors to hold some Bitcoin in their portfolios but with limited allocations due to the volatility of crypto assets.
In an interview with Bloomberg TV, he said, "I recommend people put between 2% to 3% of their net wealth in Bitcoin." He added, "For instance, I do not recommend anyone to invest more than 10% of their assets in Bitcoin because I think it would be far too risky."
The CEO, whose net worth is around $53 billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, mentioned he is "somewhat scared" of cryptocurrencies because of their price fluctuations, pointing out that the currency "has no intrinsic value; its only value is the same as paper money, which is nothing."
