People close to US President-elect Donald Trump attended the Bitcoin conference in Abu Dhabi on Monday, as the value of Bitcoin reached record highs.

The two-day Middle East and North Africa Bitcoin conference saw prominent participation from influential figures, most notably Eric Trump, the president-elect’s son, and Steve Witkoff, the new White House envoy to the Middle East and co-founder of World Liberty Financial, a cryptocurrency platform co-founded by the Trump family.

Eric Trump is set to speak at the main session, while Steve Witkoff held private talks in a closed room, where media coverage was not permitted.

The event reflects the growing relationship between the Trump administration and the world of digital currencies, highlighting the role of cryptocurrencies in major financial and commercial strategies, amid growing global interest in Bitcoin as a major investment asset.
