Microsoft shareholders rejected the proposal to add Bitcoin to the balance sheet.
At the shareholders' meeting, MicroStrategy founder Michael Saylor presented to shareholders why they should use the $80 billion in cash that is depreciating daily to buy Bitcoin.
About 70% of Microsoft's shares are held by institutional investors, with Vanguard Group, BlackRock, and State Street Bank being the majority. Retail investors account for approximately 23.5%, with insiders, including executives and board members, holding more than 6% of the company's shares.
