Just one year after the first visit, together with the Vietnamese government, he directed to concretize the commitment to 'make Vietnam NVIDIA's second home.'
Building a world-class AI Research and Development (R&D) center, invested in and operated by a leading technology corporation like NVIDIA is extremely important and is a prerequisite for developing Vietnam's artificial intelligence ecosystem, thereby promoting R&D and implementing advanced AI technology applications.
The center will attract many talents, high-tech engineers, and artificial intelligence experts to work and live in Vietnam; creating a premise to access and attract NVIDIA's enormous resources to Vietnam. NVIDIA will invest in internship programs and scholarships to train new talents and support innovative startups in Vietnam in the field of AI and other high-tech areas.
In the coming time, both sides will continue to make efforts to quickly implement the commitments in the Agreement. NVIDIA will be an important partner, accompanying Vietnam to develop the AI ecosystem, contributing to the development of science and technology, innovation in particular, and Vietnam's overall development in the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise.
Mr. Jensen Huang expressed his delight to be here to announce 'an important milestone and a great day' for NVIDIA: the announcement of the opening of NVIDIA's large Research and Development (R&D) center in Vietnam, where we will focus on AI, software, and system technologies that NVIDIA is researching.
NVIDIA's president shared: 'Today, as the event begins, I thought it had been two years, but Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh reminded me that it was only 13 months ago. It seems like two years since the Prime Minister visited NVIDIA in Silicon Valley (USA).
And with great passion and enthusiasm, the Prime Minister convinced me that Vietnam should be NVIDIA's future home. The people of Vietnam and the opportunities in Vietnam are ideal for today's investment.
Emphasizing that this is a special time in the technology industry, as in fact, the tech world is being reshaped by AI, Mr. Jensen Huang affirmed that this is 'the perfect time for Vietnam to build a future of AI.'
To promote AI in Vietnam, NVIDIA's president believes there are three things to do.
The first is to build infrastructure for AI.
The second is to continue to 'nurture' and develop a team of AI experts, and Vietnam has a superior advantage with an excellent tradition in STEM, with a large and talented software team and experts in Vietnam. This is a special opportunity for Vietnam. Therefore, collaborating with universities, partnering with AI researchers, and NVIDIA's R&D center here will be a way to nurture a large number of AI researchers in Vietnam.
The third is to support Vietnamese AI startups, as this is a new technology. Young creators and young AI researchers want to build the future here. Many Vietnamese entrepreneurs want the opportunity to build a great AI company right in their homeland.
