Japanese giant applies for two crypto ETFs: Bitcoin and XRP together for the first time… SBI Holdings, one of Japan's largest companies, has filed two crypto ETF applications with the country's financial regulator. One will be a gold-backed ETF, while the second will combine Bitcoin and XRP. SBI Holdings, which holds over $100 billion in assets and has investments across numerous sectors worldwide, continues to make its presence felt in cryptocurrencies. The company recently mentioned its crypto-ETF initiative in its Q2 2025 earnings report. The Japan-based company, which has collaborated with Ripple for years, has applied for two crypto-ETFs to be traded on the Japanese market. The first of these ETFs will combine Bitcoin and XRP. Unlike Bitcoin, #XRP ETFs are still awaiting approval from the #SEC in the US. If approved, this ETF will be the first fund in Japan to include XRP. Welsh man James Howells, who accidentally threw away his cold wallet containing thousands of Bitcoins in 2013 and has been searching for his hard drive ever since, has finally given up. In a statement, Howells stated that he will launch a Layer 2 project on the Bitcoin network and one day purchase the land where the city dump once stood. For years, he searched for the cold wallet containing his #BTC , appealed to the municipality, received no permission, refused, spoke to the media, and made repeated official requests… But to no avail. Welsh citizen James Howells has given up searching for the nearly 8,000 Bitcoins he lost after 12 years. Launching Layer-2 Project $BTC , worth over $920 million today, is currently buried at the bottom of a municipal dump in Newport, Wales. In Lugano, Switzerland, where cryptocurrencies are accepted for payment, it was revealed that a Satoshi statue, dismantled and thrown into Lake Lugano, was recently thrown into the Lugano lake.
