AI startup OpenAI has introduced a Search mode in its chatbot ChatGPT, which allows you to receive up-to-date answers with links to relevant sources in the network. The Search mode is activated automatically when the chatbot recognizes a request that requires a search. Users can also enable it manually by clicking on the corresponding icon.

Currently, members of the SearchGPT standby program, as well as Plus and Team subscribers, have access to Search. In the coming weeks, the service will become available to corporate users of Enterprise and educational institutions in Edu, and to the general public within a few months.

The main features of Search:

ChatGPT returns the best answers to a search query, avoiding the need to search multiple sources yourself.

Chat context is saved for deeper dive into the topic.

OpenAI has added up-to-the-minute data on stocks, sports, weather and maps through collaborations with data providers.

The Search mode works on the basis of the improved AI model GPT-4o, which is trained using new methods of synthetic data.
