Russia’s New Crypto Law: Expanded Mining Oversight, Strengthened Government Oversight
Russia’s new crypto law, which will go into effect on November 1, gives the government expanded powers over
cryptocurrency mining, including restricting mining in certain regions and strengthening oversight of digital financial activities.
It also allows federal agencies to access cryptocurrency data to track illicit activity, and aims to help Russia trade internationally amid Western sanctions.
