Filecoin’s 4th anniversary! The data is not optimistic! Development is at a stalemate! Token supply exceeds demand! Continuous inflation! The project owner and the community need to transform and change together to usher in a turning point! Welcome to discuss! We will convey this to the official and community

Community ecology and technology development:

Filecoin has been online for four years: focusing on storage adoption, introducing DePIN, computing, storage and AI networks! Becoming the basic storage layer of Web3, supporting hot data and fast retrieval!

This month, on October 15th, we are excited to celebrate the anniversary of the launch of the Filecoin mainnet! Over the past four years, the Filecoin network has achieved tremendous growth and has become the world’s largest decentralized storage network.

Today, we’re extremely grateful to the incredible Filecoin community, including builders, storage providers, data clients, and all who are helping to shape the future of the network.

Sending InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) to Space

In January, the Filecoin Foundation announced its first successful mission to deploy the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) in space.

Storing Solana’s Block History Onchain

Filecoin’s ZK storage is securing the entire Solana ledger, making all of Solana’s history accessible, content-addressable, and available.

Bringing novel Layer 2 solutions to the web Over the past year, a slew of new L2 solutions have been launched on the web, enabling a wide range of use cases and applications.

Decentralized AI!!

More and more AI projects are joining the Filecoin network, providing data provenance, authenticity, and verifiability in the era of high-frequency information.

Transforming the Filecoin Network with F3!

Filecoin’s (F3) Fast Finality represents the largest storage retrieval lifecycle improvement to date, and new on-chain storage contracts from other networks can now interact with Filecoin.

The Filecoin Virtual Machine (FVM) brings onchain programmability and smart contracts to the Filecoin mainnet. Dapps can leverage storage primitives on Filecoin, including permanent storage, data access control, data computing, data DAO, and other valuable workflows.

Redefining the power of computing!!

Thanks to our global network of over 2,100 storage provider systems, Filecoin contributes over 4.5 exbibytes of raw storage capacity to the network and is the leading protocol for decentralized storage!

Impact on the dataset!!

The Filecoin network provides critical storage infrastructure for better access to data in a variety of fields.

Accelerating enterprise adoption of the Filecoin network can meet the most pressing storage challenges of organizations across industries. As a leading provider of decentralized storage solutions, Desto makes Web3 accessible through user-friendly enterprise-grade decentralized solutions, helping enterprises explore the transformative potential of decentralized storage.

We’ve just begun!

Looking ahead, the Filecoin community roadmap focuses on storage adoption, bringing DePIN, computing, storage, and AI networks to Filecoin as a platform for L2 and integration. The community is also focused on building tools to make Filecoin the base storage layer for Web3, supporting hot data and fast retrieval, and expanding the Filecoin economy and community.

1. What is the core value of filecoin? Or what is the embodiment of value?

In my understanding, storage is the core value of filecoin, whether it is cold storage or hot storage.

For example, the storage cooperation with Solana is a good example.

2. Therefore, in the past year, filecoin has focused a lot of energy on fevm, but it seems that the results are not as expected, including the IPC interstellar consensus.

My question is, what are the plans of Protocol Labs or the Filecoin official team for FEVM or IPC? Is it still the focus of Filecoin?

What are the recent developments and what is expected to be achieved in the future?

3. As the institution responsible for the governance of the Filecoin ecosystem, the Filecoin Foundation seems to prefer to cooperate with seemingly noble entities, such as launching satellites to transmit data. I think this is unrealistic. At least from the market’s perspective, it has not played any good role.

Should we be more down-to-earth, connect, communicate and cooperate more with the global community, and spend money on technological improvement, community development and incentives (such as publicity and promotion, etc.)

4. Filecoin's economic model has become an obstacle to the performance of FIL tokens. It is not currently suitable for the development of market data storage. Are there any plans to change the economic model? The current supply of tokens is far greater than the market demand! In particular, the official release is about 180,000 fil per day! Is it possible to reduce the daily release of Protocol Labs and the Foundation?

5. How to develop paid storage?

Commercialization. Although block rewards, also known as subsidies, are one way, only widespread commercial storage, or the popularization of storage, can truly develop filecoin.
