Today, Vitalik published a new article titled "Possible Future of Ethereum Protocol, Part 2: Rise", which explores the key goals of the future development of the Ethereum protocol:
1. Achieve the ability of the first layer (L1) and the second layer (L2) to process more than 100,000 transactions per second;
2. Maintain the decentralization and robustness of L1;
3. Ensure that some L2 inherits the core characteristics of Ethereum, such as trustlessness, openness, and censorship resistance;
4. Improve interoperability between L2s, making Ethereum more like a unified ecosystem rather than 34 independent blockchains.
The article points out that the current priority is to improve the roadmap centered on rollup technology, solve related challenges, and continue to ensure the robustness and decentralization of Ethereum L1.
