Fed inflation deflation:
On September 21, the Federal Reserve kept the benchmark interest rate unchanged at 5.25%-5.50%, in line with market expectations. According to the Federal Reserve FOMC statement, 12 officials expected one more rate hike this year, and 7 officials expected it to remain unchanged.
Fed Chairman Powell said at a monetary policy press conference that he is firmly committed to reducing inflation to 2% and will raise interest rates further if appropriate.
