Sotheby’s to conduct its first Bitcoin Ordinals art auction

Sotheby's Digital Art Department announced that it will conduct its first Bitcoin Ordinals art auction, and will auction works of anonymous artist Shroomtoshi's Bitcoin Ordinals project BitcoinShrooms. The auction will be held from December 6 to 13, local time. There are currently three works available. Available for bidding.

The series, which includes two individual mushrooms and a pixelated avocado seed, is named BIP39 - the common standard for creating the mnemonic codes needed to create seed phrases. The three works are expected to sell for approximately $20,000 to $30,000, although the auction house is also accepting cryptocurrency bids.
