I don't get excited every time a new Layer 1 shows up anymore. After a few cycles, you realize good ideas are everywhere, but real adoption is where things usually fall apart.
OpenGradient caught my eye, not because it mentions AI, but because it seems to be thinking about the infrastructure behind it instead of using AI as a buzzword. That's a small difference, but sometimes those are the ones worth watching.
I'm still not convinced it'll be easy. Users don't move just because something is newer. But it's one of those projects I'm curious to follow rather than dismiss on day one.
