Portal, a cross-chain gaming platform, has announced the launch of Portal 2.0. According to Foresight News, the update is led by a new leadership team supported by Animoca Brands, with former Ubisoft game director Benjamin Charbit appointed as CEO. Portal is shifting its strategic focus towards AI-native tools and creator-first workflows, aiming to enable game development driven by AI, allowing non-developer users to create content.
The tools introduced by Portal include Portal Studio, a virtual workspace for agent collaboration, and Portal GameRouter, a single API interface for managing agents, assets, and pipelines. Additionally, Portal plans to launch Portal GameGen, which supports prompt-generated games, and Portal GameHub, a platform for publishing and monetization. In terms of token economics, Portal intends to periodically buy back PORTAL tokens using revenue generated from its AI tools. PORTAL token holders will enjoy early access, premium tool usage, and voting rights.
Previously, Portal completed a merger with BLIFE Protocol in December 2025, and its core team is now primarily composed of representatives from Animoca Brands.
