Исследователи Google смоделировали два квантовых алгоритма, способных проводить криптографически значимые атаки. Теоретический результат оказался тревожным: квантовая машина может вычислить приватный ключ биткоина за 9–12 минут — примерно столько же занимает подтверждение блока в сети BTC. Такой сценарий называется on-spend attack: квантовый компьютер перехватывает публичный ключ, раскрытый в момент транзакции, и успевает вычислить приватный ключ до её подтверждения. Исследователь Ethereum Джастин Дрейк заявил, что вероятность наступления «Q‑Day» к 2032 году выросла, оценивая риск как минимум в 10%.
 
Ethereum уязвим даже без транзакций
Если биткоин уязвим только в момент отправки транзакции, то Ethereum сталкивается с более серьёзной проблемой. Публичный ключ аккаунта в сети ETH становится видимым после первой транзакции и остаётся доступным навсегда. Это создаёт условия для at‑rest attack — атаки «в состоянии покоя», когда злоумышленник может вычислить приватный ключ в любое время, без ограничений по времени. Google оценила, что 1 000 крупнейших открытых аккаунтов Ethereum, на которых хранится около 20,5 млн ETH, могут быть взломаны менее чем за девять дней.
