Ce mercredi 15 avril, la Fondation BNB vient de procéder à une nouvelle opération trimestrielle de burn de sa cryptomonnaie. Une destruction programmée qui vient d'effacer très exactement 1 569 307,34 unités de sa supply, désormais composée de 134 786 900 BNB actuellement en circulation.
Un montant très important, puisqu'il correspond à un peu plus d'1 milliard de dollars, selon la publication de la BNB Chain sur le réseau X. Le tout en appliquant une règle révisée en 2021, afin de procéder à des « auto-burns » présentés comme plus transparents et prévisibles, à l'aide d'une formule mathématique prenant en compte le nombre total de blocs générés et le prix moyen du token.
Selon ce calcul, il reste donc encore 34,8 millions d'unités à détruire. Et même si les règles ont quelque peu changé depuis l'accélération de la fréquence des blocs introduite sur la BNB Chain par les mises à niveau Lorentz, Maxwell et Fermi, « les paramètres utilisés dans la formule ont été ajustés pour conserver la cohérence de l'idée et de l'esprit ».
Malgré tout, ces opérations de burn permettent de réduire régulièrement et significativement la quantité disponible de BNB, selon un principe déflationniste qui augmente à chaque fois un peu plus sa rareté tout en laissant espérer une dynamique haussière plus importante de son prix, même face à une demande identique.
L'occasion pour la Fondation BNB de rappeler que ces tokens en apparence perdus permettent également d'aider leurs détenteurs, victimes de pertes dues à des erreurs de manipulation confirmées, de pouvoir les récupérer en les déduisant du montant détruit chaque trimestre, dans le cadre du programme BNB Pioneer Burn.
