According to PANews, Russian Deputy Energy Minister Yevgeny Grabchak has announced plans to potentially relocate cryptocurrency miners to northern regions with surplus energy. This initiative aims to utilize leftover power infrastructure from oil extraction, thereby preventing waste and reducing the strain on local power grids. Since 2025, the Russian government has imposed mining bans in several areas. However, Grabchak highlighted that the northern, some northwestern, and Volga regions still offer opportunities for development.
