Nasdaq is cracking down on bitcoin reserve funders.
Companies must now get shareholder permission before offering crypto-buying stock on the market.

US-listed crypto treasury enterprises must acquire shareholder permission before issuing additional shares to boost stock price, according Nasdaq.
Nasdaq regulates public crypto treasuries more.
According to The Information on Thursday, Nasdaq is tightening its hold on firms who raise money for crypto acquisitions to increase stock performance.
Some corporations must now get shareholder permission before issuing additional shares to finance crypto reserves on the exchange. The article said that Nasdaq may delist stocks or restrict trading if companies fail to meet these additional conditions.
Market analysts think the restriction might hinder corporations moving toward crypto-focused treasuries. Others said shareholder approval may discourage crypto exposure.
Strategy (MSTR) pioneered crypto treasuries' share sales to fund coin purchases. After switching to crypto, firms' shares frequently rise dramatically.
The Information calls the trend a "stunning transformation in crypto." It follows regulatory certainty for the crypto business. Since January, organizations have been shifting toward crypto treasuries, moving beyond Bitcoin (BTC) to altcoins.
Bloomberg reports that 184 major businesses want to fund over $132 billion for crypto acquisitions, citing crypto advising company Architect Partners. Most public crypto treasuries are Nasdaq-listed.
