I have had numerous people reach out to me in the last 24 hours about running for NYC mayor.

This is not something I am interested in doing at this time, but I am happy to help the right person win the race.

New York City is the greatest city in the world. It represents everything that makes America special. There are 9 million people who live here. They come from different places, have different backgrounds, and all dream of accomplishing different things.

It is the equal opportunity provided by capitalism and democracy that creates the environment to dream. No other country provides the freedom, social mobility, or economic opportunity afforded to Americans.

Socialism and communism have been tried. They don't work. You can look throughout history or you can look at certain American cities just a few years ago.

We need a candidate that understands how to harness free markets, stoke individual economic incentives, and realizes the importance of equity ownership. Someone who is willing to stand up for what is right, regardless of how popular it is, and an individual who is not scared to do the hard work of thinking long-term.

It is intellectually lazy to promise people free things. Anyone can do that. A real leader is needed to actually solve the root problems, rather than trying to win votes with impossible policies.

I look forward to supporting the candidate that emerges with these qualities.

The city of New York deserves a strong leader who can unify the 9 million diverse people to create a society where everyone can passionately pursue the thing that makes them happy.
